A minimal liquid medium containing benzene (B), toluene (T) and xylene (X) and mixtures thereof, was used to evaluate degradation activity of Pseudomonas putida CCMI 852 containing a TOL plasmid. Experiments were developed with B, T and X (100 mg L-1), with mixtures of BT, BX, and TX (50 + 50 mg L-1 each) and BTX (33.3 + 33.3 + 33.3 mg L-1 each), added to 500 mL of medium. After 18 to 24 hours, the inoculum was added and solvent disappearance was determined after 24 to 25 hours by GC. Results showed that P. putida CCMI 852 was able to metabolize T and X, but B was not metabolized. In a BTX mixture, B was not metabolized and T and X degradation rate decreased 50%. |

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de isolados de Bacillus cereus e Pseudomonas putida sobre a severidade da mancha-angular do feijoeiro, em condições de campo. Quatro experimentos foram conduzidos em épocas favoráveis à mancha-angular (Pseudocercospora griseola), com as cultivares Pérola e Ouro Negro. Os experimentos foram realizados em delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com seis repetições. Os tratamentos foram pulverizações sobre as plantas com três estirpes de B. cereus (UFV-172, UFV-101 e UFV-75) e duas estirpes de P. putida (UFV-53 e UFV-Pp), acibenzolar-S-metil, fungicida clorotalonil e controle pulverizado com água, no total de oito tratamentos. Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of the integrated application of nitrogen fertilizer and biofertilizers on the yield, grain filling period, and composition of fatty acids of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius). Split-plot experiments were carried out during the 2011 and 2012 crop seasons.
